From 8 to 12 February Nerja celebrates its carnival and what better place to stay than at Hotel Boutique Sibarys?

The most irreverent party of the year has its highlight in our town with the contests of nymph and momo costumes, although without a doubt the most massive moment is the great parade and Eurial of the Chanquete as a culmination to the party.

The carnival of Nerja will begin on Thursday February 8 with the official opening with the official proclamation and the festival of groups. On Friday there will be costume and children’s contest, and around 21:00 will be the presentation of the Momo Carnival and the choice of the Nymph.

The big parade will take place on Saturday afternoon, ending the day with the awards ceremony in the Plaza de Espala. The festivities will conclude with the traditional and massive Entierro del Chanquete. parade in which attendees are dressed in mourning showing their total and absolute regret and grief for the closure of these holidays. After the funeral a large fireworks castle will end the party.

Yesterday began FITUR, the most important tourism fair in Spain and one of the most importants in the world. Dozens of stands, national and international, occupy the facilities of the Madrid exhibition centre, IFEMA, and, of course, Nerja is present with its own space inside the Andalusian pavilion.

Until 20 January the fair is open exclusively for the professional sector, opening to the general public on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 and 10:00 to 18:00 respectively.
